Joseph "Joe" Melton Swink

Joseph "Joe" Melton Swink, 83, of Carlowville, Alabama, passed away on December 15, 2024. He was born on November 18, 1941, to the late Joseph Melton Swink and Pearl Perdue Swink of Carlowville.

Joe's devotion to his family was a defining aspect of his character. He is survived by his loving wife, Alice; his daughter, Rene Pouncey( Josh) and grandson, Cullen Nickles; his daughter, Amy Reeves(Edgar) and granddaughter, Sarah Reeves; and grandsons Dayton and Myles Reeves; his sister, Joanne Prillaman of Newport News, Virginia; his niece Katherine Brundage(Dan) and their children Caroline and Jack Brundage of Carmel, Indiana; his nephew, Henry Prillaman (Christy) of Newport News, Virginia; and their children William Prillaman of New York, New York and Grace Ignozzi ( Anthony) of Charlottesville, Virginia.

Joe's professional journey began at the University of Alabama, where he graduated with an accounting degree. This degree was a stepping stone to his successful career as a bank auditor for the state. His dedication and commitment to his work were truly admirable.

Joe's passion for the outdoors and hunting was a significant part of his life. He cherished the time spent in the woods with his grandsons, sharing his love for nature. In addition to hunting, Joe was a devoted Alabama Crimson Tide football fan. Roll Tide!

The family would like to thank Annette Jones and Southern Care New Beacon Hospice for their exceptional care and support during Joe's final days. A private graveside will be held at Carlowville Cemetery with Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.
