Joyce Morrison

Betty Joyce Morrison, age 78, passed away, Saturday, January 6, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Morrison; parents, Hugh and Bess Garrettson; brothers, Bruce Garrettson, Wade Garrettson and Hugh "Skip" Garrettson, and sisters, Trish Hoffman and Mary McGuire. Joyce was a dedicated servant of the Lord, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to all who knew her. She was a member of Summerfield Baptist Church. She worked most of her life as office manager at the Doctor Clinic, Central Alabama Farmers Co-op and Morrisons, The Outdoorsman Store, Joyce is survived by her children, Maura (Jim) Nelson, Mike (Sharon) Morrison and Joe (Gina) Morrison; brothers, Wayne (Teresa) Garrettson, Colin (Donna) Garrettson and Charles Garrettson; grandchildren, Ashley (Cliff) Murphy, Taylor (Shana) Edwards, J. Cole Nelson, Hailey (Brennan) Nedley and Lauren (Josh) Headley; eight great-grandchildren, Connor Duckett, Addie Duckett, Harper Nedley, Piper Nedley, Chandler Headley, Gabe Murphy, Kenzie Murphy and Tucker Edwards and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Bozeman officiating. Interment will be in New Live Oak Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12-1:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Taylor Edwards, Brennan Nedley, Josh Headley, Cliff Murphy, Johnny Ray Harris and Lee Peake. Honorary pallbearers will be J. Cole Nelson, Charles Broadhead, Bob Phillips and Hugo Smith. The family will accept flowers or requests that donations be made to Summerfield Baptist Church, 72 Main St., Valley Grande, AL 36701.
