Joyce W. Rush, age 76, a loving mother and grandmother passed away peacefully at home on January 1, 2009 after a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her son John Michael Rush. Survivors include her son, Marvin Rush (Carla) of Montgomery, AL; daughter, Lynne Landry (Ricky) of Wetumpka, AL; Grandchildren; Leslie King, Brooke King, Rejeana Landry, Ashley Rush, Tiffany Rush, Blake Rush, great granddaughter, Makalyn Busby, brother, Reverend Gary Pierce Wright (Peggy) of Pensacola, FL; sisters; Priscilla Wright of Montgomery, AL, Sarah Melton (Clifford) of Selma, AL, and Nona Davis of Selma, AL. A chapel service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday January 4, 2009 at Lawrence Brown- Service Funeral Home with burial following at New Live Oak Cemetery. Reverend Gary Pierce Wright will be officiating. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home Sunday January 4, 2009. Joyce retired from BellSouth/AT&T after 39 years of service. She was an active member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. The family extends special thanks to Lynette Weston and the staff at Baptist Hospice for their kindness and considerate care.
