Karan Hollis

Karan Waldrop Hollis died peacefully in her home on August 7, 2015 in Selma, AL at the age of 54. Karan is survived by her husband, Ron Hollis; children, Justin Hollis and Tyler (Eri) Hollis; two grandchildren and her nephew, Dawson Waldrop. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harvell and Mary Lou Waldrop and her sister, Teresa Waldrop. Karan was born on April 5, 1961. She graduated from Bibb County High School and Wallace Community College with a degree in nursing. Karan is remembered as a kind and caring nurse, working in the fields of mental health, home health and hospice. Karan was an accomplished singer who loved sharing her gift with others. She was also an avid baseball fan who loved watching her boys play ball. A memorial service is scheduled for Sunday, August 9, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home chapel with Dr. David Thomas officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 2-3:00 p.m. The family would like to thank Lakeisha Harrison and the staff of SouthernCare Hospice for their care and dedication to Karan during her illness.
