Kathleen Jones

Kathleen Robinson Jones (Mrs. George E.) died January 22, 2011. She was the daughter of John W. Robinson, Jr. and Kathleen Blanton Robinson. She graduated from Selma High School and attended Montevallo College. Kathleen received a BS degree for the University of Alabama.
After graduation, she joined her grandmother for a short while in the Robinson Blanton Floral business. Later Kathleen worked for the Alabama Dept. of Pension and Security until her retirement.
Kathleen was an active member of the Church Street United Methodist Church and endeared herself to senior members by organizing trips and activities for them. She was a member of the worship committee. She was a past member of the Selma Junior Service League.
She was a generous, loyal, fun-loving citizen of Selma and had lived her entire life here except for her college and university years.
Kathleen was predeceased by her husband George E. Jones and brother J. William Robinson, III. She is survived by a son William B. Jones and wife Trina of Mobile. Others survivors are step-son George E. Jones, Jr., sister in law Elizabeth Robinson, niece Margaret Buker and nephew Lee Robinson.
Grave side services will be held at Live Oak Cemetery, 2pm Wednesday, January the 26th with visitation in the Calhoun Parlor of the Church Street United Methodist Church at 1pm with Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Those desiring may make donations to the Church Street United Methodist Church in her memory.
