Katie Louise Ennis Mott, of Selma, AL, was born February 29, 1928 to Thomas Jefferson Ennis and Victoria De Fabritis Ennis. She passed away September 23, 2013 at age 85. She will be remembered for her love of family, her spunk, her beautiful blue eyes, her drive and enviable work ethic, and her devotion to caring for others. Her most cherished times were spent laughing with her family. She was a master wood carver who uncovered rosettes and curling leaves and finely feathered eagles' wings hidden in the wood. She was preceded in death by her parents; former spouse and friend, Roy A. Mott, Jr.; sister, Margaret Elizabeth Ennis Gilbert; and brothers, Robert Ennis, Bart Ennis, and William Ennis. She is survived by her brothers, Thomas Ennis and Johnnie Ennis; daughters, Nancy Elizabeth Mott (Jack) Redd and Vicki June Mott Adams Burt; sons, Roy Alphonso "Buddie" (Marie) Mott, III, Robert Lynn (Annette) Mott, and Charles Glynn (Ruth Anne) Mott; 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and admirers. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home with Dr. David Bell officiating. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in New Live Oak Cemetery with Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Her beloved grandsons will be pallbearers.
