Kenneth Wayne Chance passed away on June 28,2024. He was born on April 30, 1973, and throughout his life, he touched the hearts of many with his warm smile and hardworking nature.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Wayne Chance; grandparents, Floyd and Bertie Chance; grandmother, Virginia Manning (H.W.) Brown and grandfather, James Leslie Manning.
He is survived by his mother, Carolyn Louise Manning Chance; aunts and uncles, James Ray Brown, Cathy Brown Donohoe, Dianne M. (Ed) Eaton and Mike Chance and a host of friends.
Kenneth dedicated 28 years of his life to Simpkins Logging as a heavy equipment operator, where he not only excelled in his career but also formed deep bonds with his colleagues who regarded him as family. His work ethic and dedication were truly admirable. He was a thoughtful, loving and caring son.
In his younger years, Kenneth found joy in simple pleasures. He cherished the memories of carefree days spent swimming at the Statesville Pool and sharing laughter with friends while grilling out. It was his easygoing nature that endeared him to all who knew him.
Ken was a graduate of Morgan Academy, Class of 1992.One of Kenneth's fondest memories was the escapade he embarked upon with his cousin Nathan when they drove his Uncle Ed's Toyota Corolla onto a frozen pond. This adventurous spirit was a testament to his love for fun and excitement. Kenneth had a deep passion for the great outdoors. Hunting deer, turkey, ducks, and doves brought him immense joy, connecting him with nature in a profound way. Fishing was another hobby he cherished, finding solace by the water's edge. Ken had a deep love for the great outdoors and cherished spending time hunting with his lifelong friend, Jared Cleveland and Jared's sons, Jackson and Cole, creating countless memories together in nature.
Despite facing illness, Kenneth showed remarkable strength and courage. His proudest accomplishment was navigating through difficulties with grace and without complaint. His resilience inspired all who knew him.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church in Sardis with Dr. Ed Eaton officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. No visitation is scheduled.
Pallbearers will be Mike Simpkins, Pearson Rogers, Hugh Hobbs, Lide Hooker, Mickey Nail, Clint Norris, Willie Williams, Wesley Smith and Jared Cleveland. Honorary pallbearers will be Chet Norris, Jackson Cleveland, Cole Cleveland, Wayne Manning, Chris Eaton, Nathan Eaton, Arthur "Peter" Walker.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association or the church of your choice in his honor.
