He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Adie Hooks; brothers, Harvey Callaway Hooks and Franklin Wayne Hooks and his grandson, Kenneth Allen Hayes.
He is survived by his sons, Tim (Dana) Hooks, Kenny (Stacey) Hooks, Chris (Jessica) Hooks; daughters, Cathy (Michael) Tyson and Dianne (Nelson) King and Lisa (Davy) Johnson; grandchildren, Jeff Hayes, Brent Hayes, Tessa Hayes, Audrey King, Stacey King, Brian Johnson, Rocky Johnson, Cynthia Hooks, Samantha Hooks, Shana Hooks and Kimber Hooks; great grandchildren, "Mikey" Hayes, Lindsey Johnson, Ryan Johnson, and Mason Mimms.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 13, 2009 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Monday, September 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Live Oak Cemetery with Rev. George K. Jones, Sr. officiating. If there is inclement weather, the service will be held in the chapel of Selma Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tim Hooks, Nelson King, Davy Johnson, Kenny Hooks, Brian Johnson and Chris Hooks. Dr. Julian Howell, Dr. Jack Burns and John Roy Carter will serve as honorary pallbearers.
