Lauren, a recent graduate of Fairhope High School, planned to attend culinary school to become a bakery chef. She worked at Pinzone’s Italian Downtown for the past year, and she loved being in the kitchen among friends.
It is difficult to condense everything there is to tell about Lauren. She was a strong, confident, soft-hearted, creative, funny, delightful, genuine person who supported and protected those she loved. At a young age, she had learned much in life; she was wise beyond her years. She was a defender of those who needed help; those who were picked on and pushed aside. She took action when she saw a need—a responder, never a bystander. The causes of autism and epilepsy were important to her. She loved animals. She loved to sing. She loved to draw. Her laughter was contagious, and her smile lit up her surroundings. This is the picture of Lauren to carry with us and remember. By emulating her actions, our little space in the world will be a better place, and a piece of her will live on.
Lauren is survived by her parents, Jake (Sarah) Wright, Tabitha Wright and Brian Hasty; brothers, Trotter Hasty, Mason & Logan Wright; grandparents, Sherry Marter, Chip (Naomi) Moseley, Nancy Breland, Ed Breland, Willie (Mary Jane) Wright, Larry (Mellissa) Hasty, Tina Adams, Ronald (Michelle) Adams; great-grandparents, John (Faye) Champion, Tilton Marter, Tommy (Sue) Huffman, Ronnie Adams; great-great grandmother Laris Kibodeaux; aunts/uncles, Jessica (Cory) Lockhart, Jacob (Janet) Moseley, John (Scarlett) Moseley, Gabe (Cheri’) Wright, John (Lisa) Wright, Paige (Shane) Gregg, Josh Dumas, Kelly (Norman) Averette, Justin Hasty, Chris (Anna) Adams, Michael (Blair) Adams; and her first cousins; great aunts/uncles, Derek (Celeste) Champion, Sheila Jenkins, Emmett (Rhonda) Moseley, Wanda (Larry) Cooper, Billy (Shelton) Luker, Bobby (Patty) Luker, Earl (Carmen) Luker, Willard (Marie) Luker, Ruth (Daniel) Lee, Bryant Marter, Tammy Marter, David (Christy) Marter and her second cousins and extended family members.
Lauren cherished all of her friends, but a special place in her heart belonged to Carrie Lewis, her best friend since childhood, to her confidant & constant supporter Wesley Williamson, and to her close friends Ryan Young & Hannah Thompson. She would want us to take their hands, embrace them, and let them know that they are not alone.
Lauren was preceded in death by her Pawpaw Nick Marter of Selma, AL; great grandparents J.W. & Anna Louise Luker, Curtis & Barbara Moseley of Selma, AL and Rita Marter of Petal, MS; great-great grandparents George & Nealie Jane Avritt of Point Clear, AL. and Lawrence Kibodeaux of Houston, TX.
