Lelon Roy Godwin

Roy Godwin passed away February 13, 2025 at the age of 78. He was born July 23, 1946 to the late Lelon Kenneth and Laura Godwin.  

He was preceded in death by his brother, James Edward Godwin.

He is survived by his children, Tammy (Ron) Dockery, Mark (Brandee) Godwin and Shelley (Todd) Jones; grandchildren, Samantha Ray, Kyndal Harrison, Andrew (Charlotte) Ray, Noah Godwin and Cole (Shelley) Godwin; brother, Tony (Lisa) Godwin and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Alabama National Cemetery at 11:45 a.m. with honors rendered by the United States Marine Corps Honor Guard with Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home of Selma directing. Attendees should arrive no later than 11:30 a.m. to be escorted to the committal shelter.

Pallbearers will be Mark Godwin, Noah Godwin, Cole Godwin, Ron Dockery, Todd Jones and Andrew Ray.
