Lemma McFarland Pugh, age 98, of Selma, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2011.
She is preceded in death by her parents: James D. McFarland and Lester Lovelady McFarland; husband: Dennis Pugh; daughter: Ruth Pugh Russell; sisters: Bonnie Latham, Cecil Latham and Ella Sue Green; brothers: Ted McFarland, Jim Jack McFarland and Lester McFarland; and son in law: Oliver Sewell.
Survivors include her daughters: Virginia Williams and Mabel Sewell; a son: Jimmy Pugh and his wife Martha; 13 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Pugh was a shop steward for the AFL-CIO and later a district representative at All-Lock. During her retirement she was a volunteer pink lady for the Selma Medical Center.
Services will be held on Thursday, June 2 at 10:00 a.m. at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home with Dr. Kenny Hatcher officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow at Pineview Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Mark Sewell, John Sewell, Christopher Sewell, Wayne Vinson, Derrell Lawrence, and Keith Lawrence. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Russell and David Russell.
