Lenora Carol Nichols

Lenora Carol Nichols, born on September 2, 1948, in Albertville, AL, passed away on April 15, 2025, at Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma, AL. She was 76 years old.

Carol lived in Marion, AL, and is survived by her children, William Nichols (Aimee) and Heather Pritchard (Joe), as well as her siblings, Dale Gentle, Spike (Evelyn) Parrish, and Betty (John) Lovvorn; brother-in-laws, Charles Nichols (Diane) and Layne Nichols (Alan Lancaster).

She was a loving grandmother to five grandchildren: Parrish Nichols, Sims Nichols, Emoree Nichols, Stella Pritchard, and Grayson Pritchard. She also has a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Nichols, her parents, Spurgeon L. Parrish and Louise Parrish, and her father and mother-in-law, Thomas and Dorothy Nichols.

Carol graduated from Judson College in 1970 and then began her career in social work.

She dedicated over 30 years of service to the Perry County Department of Human Resources and the Bibb County Department of Human Resources. Carol was an avid seamstress and enjoyed making clothes throughout her life. She cherished spending time with her family and attending events for her grandchildren.

Carol was a long-time member of Marion Methodist Church and served on several advisory committees during her life.

Carol’s Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025, at 2:30pm at Marion Methodist Church with Rev. Len Hurston officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:30pm, prior to service at the church. Burial for immediate family at Ephesus Baptist Church will be held at a later date following return of her cremains.
