Lewis Wayne Ham, 80 passed away on May 5, 2013 at Shelby County Medical Center in Alabaster. He is preceded in death by his son Lewie (Jr.), his parents Bill and Ona Ham, and his sister Mary Kling (Ralph). He is survived by his wife Jeanette Ralston Ham of 56 years; niece Terry Kling Ham (C.T.) and nephew Ralph "Chip" Roman Kling III and great-nephew Roman Kling (IV); two special nieces Liz Carter Ross (Kenny) and Gina McLendon Friday (Jack) and many other special nieces, nephews and friends.
Lewis was retired from the United States Postal Service and a long-time member and Deacon of Westwood Baptist Church.
Lewis was recently video interviewed and made the statement, "I couldn't have had a better life."
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Lawrence Brown Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral service will be Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Westwood Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at New Live Oak Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Ross, Brandon Ross, Brook Ross, Eric Richburg, Chad Seekers, Roman Kling and David Middlebrooks. Honorary pallbearers are the Ready Class of Westwood Baptist Church and Jack Friday.
