Linda Joyce Cook McCormick, 59, of Selma, AL passed away peacefully at home on December 1, 2010 surrounded by family and friends. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 3, 2010 at the chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home with Judge Bob Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow at New Live Oak Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. Mrs. McCormick was preceded in death by her loving husband of 34 years, Milton Earl McCormick, her father, Thomas Wesley Cook, and her mother, Judith Irene Cook. She is survived by her stepmother, Helen Cook of Selma; her loving sons, Milton McCormick Jr. (Sandy) of Gulf Shores, AL, Billy McCormick (Kathy) of Selma, AL, Bryan McCormick (Jennifer) of Selma, Josh McCormick (Shawna) of Selma, and Jimmy McCormick of Selma; one sister, Georgia Harris (Mark) of Selma; five brothers, Raymond Cook (Kay) of Selma, Curtis Cook (Janie) of Selma, Tim Cook of Selma, Chuck Cook of Deatsville, and Roger Cook (Missy) of Plantersville; a host of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Pallbearers will be Thomas Cook, Derreck Day, Michael Johnson, Jimmy Champion, Jason Cook, Danny Smith, Jerry Headley, and John Thomas. The family would like to thank Wiregrass Hospice for all their loving support and kindness during their time of need and sorrow.
