Lloyd Cleveland Stockman of Valley Grande, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024, at home with his family by his side at the age of 82. 

He was born in Uniontown, AL on April 18, 1942 to the late William Roscoe Stockman and the late Irene Combs Stockman.

Mr. Stockman grew up in Plantersville Baptist Church where he was saved. He later joined Northside Baptist Church, Selma, where he was ordained as a deacon and then went on to help start Summerfield Baptist Church, Valley Grande, AL. Mr. Stockman worked for thirty-three years as Director of Distribution and Traffic for American Candy Company in Selma. He felt the Lord call him into the ministry to preach and was ordained as a pastor in 1994. He recently retired from the ministry having been the pastor at Faith Chapel Baptist Church in Marion for thirty years. Mr. Stockman was known for his deep devotion to God and he never met a stranger. He was also well known for his love of Southern Gospel music. 

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carolyn Carter Stockman of Valley Grande, AL; children, Pam (Dale) Brooks of Prattville, AL; Jeff (Janice) Stockman of Prattville, AL; Amy (Matt) Stewart of Bulverde, TX; six grandchildren, Jacob Willliams (Sara), Carter Stockman, Cleveland Stockman, Caroline Stewart, Mary Carter Stewart, Jameson Stewart and great-grandson, Henry Williams. He is also survived by four brothers, Sam Stockman, Mobile, AL; Harold Stockman (Anne) Prattville, AL; Jim Stockman (Dianne) Prattville, AL; Comer Stockman (Jean) Prattville, AL, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Billy Stockman and Mary Jo Vinson; sister-in-law, Norma Ann Stockman; brother-in-law, L.B. Vinson; nephew, Bill Jr. Stockman and great-granddaughter, Maggie Williams.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug Vance and Rev. Lee Tate officiating. Interment will be in Pineview Memory Garden with Selma Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 A.M.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Williams, Carter Stockman, Cleveland Stockman, Joe Stockman, Roger Stockman, Steven Stockman, Dr. Ben Lee, and Eric Stubbs. Honorary pallbearers will be Jameson Stewart, Alan Stockman, and Chuck Harris.
