Mamie Lou "Ann" Tiller Pierce, 92, of Orrville, AL passed away peacefully in her sleep December 17, 2013 at her home. Mrs. Pierce is survived by her sister-in-law, Flo Tiller; daughters, Mary Pierce McLaughlin (Bob), Barbara Pierce Miller (Ron), and Jo Ann Pierce; grandchildren, James McLaughlin (Pam), Jason McLaughlin (Cindy), Joanne Miller Donovan (Jack), and Aaron Miller (Laurie); 2 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews; and a close friend, Pearce Caine, who she considered as a son.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph T. Pierce; parents, Charlie and Charlcie Tiller; sisters, Carrie Tiller and Hazel Tiller; brothers, Carl Tiller, Noble Tiller, and E.W. Tiller. Visitation will be 1-1:45 p.m. Thursday, December 19, 2013. at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 19, 2013 at New Live Oak Cemetery with Rev. Donald Harris officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Ann had a good and plentiful life. She was a wonderful mother, wife, friend and neighbor.
She loved to fish, watch ball games, visit with her family in California, garden, ride horses, go to barn dances, and be at her country home which was very peaceful and quiet. She loved to play cards. She helped her husband run 3 cattle ranches in California. Mrs. Ann was also known for giving perms and fixing her neighbors hair.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to United Way of Selma/Dallas County.
