Margaret Day O��� Hara ���Betty��� of Selma, peacefully passed away Wednesday July 1, 2009. Born December 19th, 1922 to Lillian and Charles Day in Birmingham, Al. She was preceded in death by husbands, Alfred M. Bradbury Sr., and Samuel O��� Hara and also two children, William Bradbury and Diane Bradbury Murfee. She is survived by sons, Alfred M. Bradbury Jr. (Reesie), Tupelo, MS, Richard Bradbury (Belinda) Selma, AL, daughter, Pat O���Hara Hayden, Phoenix, AZ, grandchildren, Melissa Lipscomb (Jim) Monroeville, AL, Laura Brown (Bill), Prattville, AL, Brad Murfee (Alison), Starkville, MS, Kathy LaFave (Brian) Brighton, CO, Stephen Bradbury, Tupelo, MS, Cody Bradbury, Selma, AL Shannon Duke (Chris) Phoenix, AZ and six great-grandchildren. Twice a cancer survivor and volunteer for the American Cancer Society, she was awarded the prestigious Terese Lasser Award for the State of Alabama 2004 in recognition of outstanding contributions to the reach to recover program. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday July 5, 2009 at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Ron Stone officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Burial will be Monday July 6, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, Alabama. Pallbearers will be Johnny Morris, Brad Murfee, Jim Lipscomb, Bill Brown, Stephen Bradbury and Cody Bradbury. Special thanks are given to Dr. Park Chittom and the caring staff of Cedar Hill Assisted Living, Park Place Rehabilitation Center and Vaughan Regional Medical Center. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to the American Cancer Society or Presbyterian Home for Children.
