Marie Rhoades
March 9, 1926 — November 28, 2016
Marie Chalker Rhoades passed away November 28, 2016 at the age of 90. She was born March 9, 1926 to the late Lorenzo Chalker and Thelma Blackwell.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Warren A. Rhoades, whom she loved almost as much as her yard and the flowers she grew and her son, Robert A. Rhoades.
Marie was a hard worker who was dedicated to her job in the Building Inspector’s Office for the City of Selma from 1975 to 2001. She will always be affectionately remembered as Mrs. Marie by her family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors.
She is survived by her son, James A. Leverette; daughter, Lori M. (Albert) Perret; grandchild, Tatlyn; nieces, Becky (Wolf) Manz and Jean Rauckman; great-niece, Amanda (Rene) Garcia and great-nephew, J.T. Brown.
Graveside services will be Friday, December 2, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at New Live Oak Cemetery.
