Marion Godwin

April 29, 1922 — January 19, 2016

Marion Elizabeth Radford Godwin "Coonie", age 93, of Burnsville died January 19, 2016 at a local hospital.

Services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Burnsville, Alabama with Rev. Ed Eaton officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow in Pineview Memory Gardens Visitation will be Friday, January 22, 2016 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.

Survivors include her brother-in-law; Malcolm McKay Godwin and sister-in-law; Eva Lou Godwin. Nieces; Ann Hinds, Lynn (Otis) Bender, Monta Lou Crawford "Punkin", Brenda (Mike) Deavors, and Wanda (David) Hayes. Niece-in-law; Judy Radford, Nephew; Rex (Melissa) Thompson. Several great and great- great nieces and nephews. An "adopted" son; Edward Eaton, a precious god child; Paula McWhorter and special friends; Kathy Johnson and Sugar Baby.

Mrs. Godwin was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years; Curtis Reese Godwin, brothers; George Radford and Lauvil Radford, sisters; Mattie Dempsey, Lillie Mae Pugh, and Minnie Gilbert, mother; Mary Lemley Radford and father; Carl Radford.

Mrs. Godwin was a long time member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and a retired employee of R.L. Zeigler Meat Packing Plant.

Pallbearers will be Rex Thompson, David Latham, Mark Sewell, Bucky Summerlin, and David Summerlin.
Honorary pallbearer will be Jim Trantham.
The family is accepting flowers, but you may also make donations to Shady Grove Baptist Church, 234 Co. Rd. 83, Selma, Alabama 36703. "Coonie" will always be remembered for her warm heart and willingness to serve her Lord through helping others.
