Mark Douglas King, age 60, passed away November 23, 2016 in Selma, Alabama.
Funeral service will be held at Queen of Peace Catholic Church on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend M. Myhalyk officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow on Saturday, December 3 at Oak Hill Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. in Jasper, Alabama.
Mark was the beloved son of Odis and Clara Nell King who was born on August 19, 1956 in Old Hickory, Tennessee. He went to Selma High School and graduated in 1974. He went on to earn a degree in History from the University of Alabama. He was an avid reader who enjoyed sports, traveling and spending time with family.
Mark is preceded in death by his parents, Odis and Clara Nell King.
Mark is survived by his brothers, Gary and Rodney King; sisters, Linda Haycraft and Janet Brown and brother-in-law, Shawn Brown.
