Martha Mccully

Martha Josephine Worrell McCully, age 86, passed away on January 13, 2015. She was married to Robert Andrew McCully for nearly 54 years until his death in 2009. She was born November 17, 1928, the daughter of the late James B. and Ellen Inez LaGrone Worrell.
Martha Jo was a graduate of Alabama College (B.A.,now the University of Montevallo) and the University of Alabama (M.A.), and was the first teacher of multi-handicapped children in Dallas County. She was an elder and active member of First Presbyterian Church, and was honored with a life-time membership to Presbyterian Women. Often of service to others, until recently she delivered Meals on Wheels.
She is survived by her sons, Robert A. "Bob" (Mimi) McCully, Jr. and James "Jimmy" Wilson McCully; daughter, Margaret "Meg" McCully (Rob) Neill and grandchildren, Ellen McCully (Drew) Pittman, Robert Andrew (Amanda) McCully III, Martha Marie McCully and Samuel Robert Neill.
Memorial services will be Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church. Mrs. McCully will be interred privately in the Valley Creek Presbyterian Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Warren Room at the church beginning at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make memorial donations to the Selma Public Library, 1103 Selma Avenue, Selma, Alabama 36701 or the Selma Area Food Bank, 497 Oak Street, Selma, Alabama 36701.
