Mary Sue Huffman passed away peacefully at her home on July 13, 2024 at the age of 81. She was born November 2, 1942 to the late William Pratt Sheehan, Sr. and Rena Oliver Sheehan.
Mary Sue dedicated over four decades of her life to perfecting the art of cosmetology Selma before retiring in 2000. Her talents not only beautified her clients but also brought joy into their lives. She attended Orrville High School and later pursued her passion at Sue Seal's Cosmetology School in the Hotel Albert. Despite leaving school early, like many in her time, Mary Sue's determination shone through when she earned her G.E.D in her 70s – a moment she cherished and proudly celebrated.
Beyond her professional achievements, Mary Sue's true legacy lies in the love she shared with her family. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating beautiful memories that will be treasured for generations to come. Her humble and caring nature touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Mary Sue's faith was an integral part of her being, as she radiated kindness and made everyone feel valued and loved.
Apart from her work and family, Mary Sue found joy in simple pleasures like playing cards, reading, and tending to her beloved yellow roses in the yard. Her passion for helping others extended to volunteering at Vaughn Regional as a dedicated "Pink Lady" in the Hospital Auxiliary for several years, where she also managed the gift shop.
She was preceded in death by her son, Mark Alan "Chunky" Huffman; step-granddaughter, Lauren McKenzie Wright and brother, William Pratt Sheehan, Jr.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, George Thomas "Tommy" Huffman; children, Katrina Adams, Ricky (Melissa) Huffman and Vickie (Tommy) Poe; daughter-in-law, Theresa Huffman (Ronnie) Terry; eight grandchildren, Susan (Nathan) Welch, Christopher Adams, Sarah (Jake) Wright, Randall (Heather) Huffman, Victoria Poe, Michael (Blair) Adams, Courtney (Mark) McMullin and Mary Frances Huffman; two step-grandsons, Wesley Williamson and Kyle Williamson; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Margaret (Jesse) Harvell, Bill Nickles, Brenda Maske and Debbie (Bo) Jackson; brothers, Donnie (Weida) Sheehan and Randy (Jerri Kay) Sheehan and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends that she also loved with all of her heart.
