Mary Lou Myers, age 78, of Selma, AL, passed away May 7, 2013 after a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Clara Marie Brown; brothers, Jack Brown and Gene Brown; sisters, Fonda Hicks, Alma Richmond, Millie Pignataro and Marion Holloway and niece, Judy Demland. She is survived by her devoted husband of sixty years, Walter Charles Myers, Sr.; sons, Walter C. (Barbara) Myers, Jr. and Dana Dean Myers; daughters, Sherilyn (Randall) Bruhn; granddaughters, Brittaney (John) Myers-Gray and Amy (Lance) Messer; great-grandchildren, Payton Messer and Landon Messer; brothers, Richard Brown and Darrel Brown; sisters, Lillian Davis and Doris Brown and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Myers was born in Hicksville, OH and married Walter C. Myers, Sr. on August 22, 1953. Together they reared three children. She was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. She was a wonderful cook, a dedicated Republican, enjoyed listening to music, playing bingo and was very young at heart. She faithfully supported her husband and the American Legion where she had many friends. She was a member of Barrett Road United Methodist Church and belonged to the Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority. Funeral services will be Friday, May 10, 2013 at 12:30 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Deborah Born officiating. Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens with Selma Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be prior to the service at 11:00 a.m. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
