Mary Stone

Mary Frances Howell Stone, age 84, departed this life February 10, 2015, at Park Place Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Selma, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Alvin Phillip (Jack) Stone (1928-2002). She was the daughter of Ethel May Pressley Howell (1898-1970) and Harmon A. Howell (1896-1961) of Moundville, AL. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Eleanor Mae Howell (1936-2015), Earline Howell Gilliam (1928-2004 ), and Galdon (Golden) Howell (1916-1993); and brothers, Franklin R. Howell (1931-2012), Harmon A. Howell, Jr, (1926-2007), Bufford Howell (1913-1998), John L. Howell, (1921-1992), and Roy Edward Howell (1918-1980), and survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A special thanks to her first cousin, Doris Maxine Hamm, for being her best friend, and to Joanne Hise, Director of Nursing, and all of the staff at Park Place Nursing Center, for providing such attentive care over the past eight years. Graveside services will be Thursday, February 12, 2015, at 1:00 PM at Pineview Memory Gardens in Valley Grande with Rev. Cory Horton, Pastor of Elkdale Baptist Church, officiating.
