Mary Claire Taylor, a Selma native and short time resident of Mobile, Alabama, died on October 10, 2008 with her family by her side following a short illness. She was a wonderful and influential wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mary Claire was ever present in their lives and will remain so despite her passing. She was a long time member of Houston Park Church of Christ in Selma and most recently attended The First Christian Church in Mobile. Her love for the Lord and her family was her whole life. She is preceded in death by her parents Harrell and Mabel Morrow Oliver of Selma and her infant son, Thomas Harrell Taylor. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, H.L. ���Tooty��� Taylor and two sisters, Marian Busby and Camille Hunter (Robert) of Selma. She is also survived by her children; Connie Taylor Wiggins (Larry) of Gadsden , AL; Kaye Taylor Chamberlain (Scott) of Bostwick, GA; Richard Harrell Taylor (Mary) of Mobile, AL; Debra Taylor Baumhauer (Daly) of Mobile, AL; and, Stacey Taylor Ousley (Robert) of Somerset, KY. Her surviving grandchildren are Taylor Wiggins (Anna) of Gadsden, AL; McKinley Wiggins (Stacy) of Birmingham, AL; Justin Chamberlain (Heather) of Rutledge, GA; Ryan Chamberlain of Bostwick, GA; Richard Chamberlain of Bostwick, GA; Mary Sears, Richard, and Sage Taylor of Mobile, AL; Robin C. Herndon IV of Mobile, AL; V. Adele Herndon of Birmingham, AL; John Daly Baumhauer IV of Tuscaloosa, AL; and, Mary Claire, Emily, and Elizabeth Ousley of Somerset, KY. Her great grandchildren are Carson, Hayes, and Allie Wiggins; McCall and Scott Chamberlain and Ainsley Wiggins. She was loved and adored by her family and will be greatly missed. The family will receive visitors at Meadowview Christian Church in Selma, AL at 1:00 p.m. on October 12, 2008 followed by a graveside service at New Live Oak Cemetery in Selma, AL at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the American Heart Association or the charity of your choice.
