Mary Janis Tucker, age 78, of Selma, passed away Feb. 16, 2015, at Lighthouse Nursing Home.
Janis was born in Martin Station, on Jan. 3, 1937, to the late J. S. Watson and Edna Watson.
She was married to the late Joe Tucker until his passing in 1993. Janis is survived by her brother, Dr. Ralph Watson (Gayla).
Janis is survived by three children; Elizabeth Wilkinson (Randy Brown), Donna Kelley (Bob) and Joseph Tucker (Tammy).
She is also survived by eight grandchildren, James Wilkinson (Keli), Cody Bradbury, Mark Kelley, Chris Kelley (Lisa), Michelle Burns (Bob), Renee Wilkerson (Paul), Genie Tucker and Everett Tucker; and seven great-grandchildren, Lauryn Wilkinson, Grace Wilkinson, Rori Wilkinson, Anna James Wilkinson, Jase Wilkinson, Madison Burns and Leah Burns. Also, she is survived by her close Yorkie companion, Teddy.
Graveside service will be Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015, at New Live Oak Cemetery at 11 a.m. Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home will direct with Cory Horton, Elkdale Baptist Church, officiating. Pallbearers will be sons-in-law and grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Selma Animal Shelter, 206 Medical Center Parkway, Selma, AL or a charity of your choice.
