Mary Frances Dickerson Weeden, 91, passed away on February 27, 2025, in Dothan, Alabama. She was born in Dothan on August 24, 1933, to the late Simon Elbert Dickerson and Gladys Tate Dickerson. She was the last surviving of her siblings.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Charles Dickerson, Otis Woodham, Royce Woodham, and Betty Jean Dickerson Carpenter, as well as her nephew, Jimmy McKay.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews: Ken (Susan) Woodham, Bruce (Mary) Woodham, Betty Jo (Brent) McKay-Scott, Christie (Ronnie) Sawyer, Wayne McKay, Ellen McKay along with a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, and extended family who will cherish her memory.
Mary Frances dedicated much of her life to hard work and service. She was employed at The Glass House and Selma-Del before spending many years as a sales clerk in the ladies' department at J.C. Penney.
Though she never had children of her own, she had a deep love for children and was known for her warm and affectionate nature. She cherished her faith and her church family at First Baptist Church of Selma, where she was known for her loving hugs and kind spirit.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home of Selma. Graveside services will follow at New Live Oak Cemetery at 11:00 a.m.
