Mattie Matthews

Mattie Jim Matthews age 90 of Mobile and formerly of Selma, passed away on July 17, 2020 at her home. She was born February 9, 1930 in Alabama to the late Luther B. Lawrence and the late Consuwella Lowe Lawrence.
She is survived by her children, Patricia Aaron, Sondra Tamimi, Sheree Griffis, and Janice Christopher; grandchildren, Hardin McNeil, Holly McNeil, Joel Cottini, Amir Tamimi, Kale Jackson, Amber Lay, Olivia Anderson, and Coale Maples; great-grandchildren, Aris Stevens, Jada Pilgrim, William Holley, Mark Tamimi, Jackson Tamimi, Jeffrey Jackson, Avery Jackson, Callie Jackson, Seanah S. Smith, Isabella Lay, Payton Anderson and Mary Elizabeth Anderson; and siblings, Darrel Lawrence and Millie Mitchell.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Matthews and siblings, Louise Ayotte, Luther Lawrence, and Tom Collins.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 from the Selma Funeral Home Chapel at 12:00 p.m. with Bro. David Tripp officiating.
Interment will follow in Pineview Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Gerald Christopher, Coale Maples, Amir Tamimi, Vance Landers, Brandin King, and Payton Anderson.
William Holley will serve as Honorary Pallbearer.
Final care and arrangements have been entrusted to Selma Funeral Home.
A face mask is required for services.
