McKenzie R. "Mac" Griffis passed away June 10, 2016 at the age of 80. He was born October 10, 1935 to the late Henry Irvin Griffis and Leah Carolyn Jackson Griffis.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Diane May.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Roberta D. Griffis; daughter, Cynthia L. Holder; son-in-law, Robbie L. May; grandchildren, Thomas M. (Cathy S.) May, Kellie L. (Gregory) Russell, Jonathan W. May, Jacob A. May, Evan M. Wiggins and Nicholas G. Wiggins; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He retired after 30 plus years with Liberty National Life Insurance Company and was the owner of Griffis Construction Company.
Graveside services will be Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in Pine Crest Cemetery in Mobile, Alabama with Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home, Selma, Alabama directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Selma on Wednesday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
