Melissa Young Wood

Melissa Young Wood passed away April 6, 2023 in Batesville, Mississippi. She was born in Selma, Alabama July 7, 1982 to Deborah Williamson Young and the late Johney Young, Sr.
 
She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Zada Pearl and James AlvinWilliams; grandmother, Marinello Overfield; grandparents, Max and Edith Williamson; grandmother, Mary L. Williamson; aunt, Mary Jo Young Farley; step-sister, Felisha Williams and cousin, Branden Burton.
 
She is survived by her husband, Patrick Ian Wood; daughter, Abigail Wood; son, Nicholas Wood; fur baby, Gracie; mother and step-father, Debbie (Mike) Friday; brothers, Mike (Ashley) Young and Chris (Joy) Friday; grandfather, William Overfield; father and mother-in-law, Michael and Manette Wood and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
 
Funeral services will be Friday, April 14, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Chandler officiating. A private burial will follow at New Live Oak Cemetery. The family will receive friends, beginning at 10:00 a.m., prior to the service.
 
Pallbearers will be Chris Friday, Michael Williams, Drew Friday, Wesley Friday, James Young and Mike Young.
