Michael Dewayne Tyler, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on December 15, 2024, at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Jean Tyler, and his brother, David Tyler. Known for his mischievous smile and quick wit, Michael had a remarkable ability to find humor in life’s moments, bringing joy and laughter to everyone who knew him.
Michael was the devoted husband of Penny Tyler, with whom he shared 43 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. His love for Penny was evident in every aspect of his life, and their bond served as a beautiful example of partnership and commitment.
A proud and loving father, Michael is survived by his daughter Stephanie Smith and her husband Sloan, along with their three children, Seth, Symone, and Sydney; his son Brandon Tyler and his wife Shannon, along with their two children, Makayla and Caleb; and his son, Austin Tyler. Michael’s family was his pride and joy, and he relished every opportunity to celebrate their achievements, share their milestones, and offer his unwavering support. He is also survived by his sister Pamela Moss and her husband Henry, along with their two children, Sarah and Mathyn.
Michael’s humor, kindness, and genuine care for others left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate to know him. Many mornings, Michael would crack a joke and then rush out the door before the family could voice their own playful comebacks. He was Penny's "Devil Rat" due to his quips and impish spirit. He had an extraordinary gift for making people laugh, a legacy that will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
The family invites all who loved Michael to join them in celebrating his life at the Chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home on December 30, 2024 at 11:00 a.m., to share stories and honor the incredible person he was. Inurnment will follow next to his parents at Pineview Memory Gardens in Valley Grande. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Stroke Association in Michael’s memory.
