Mike Melton

Michael Wayne Melton, age 43, of Valley Grande, AL, passed away February 28, 2010. He was preceded in death by mother, Bonnie Sue Dinwiddie; step-brother, John Pittman and step-sister, Sally P. Downs. Surviving are his wife, Chris Melton; father, Wayne (Jonlee) Melton; son, Tanner Melton; daughters, Kylie Morgan and Lindsay Morgan; mother-in-law, Barbara Hutchinson Kirk; sisters, Laurie (Tim) Lawson and Lisa (Kip) Reuter; step-sister, Eva Jane (Phil) Richerson; nieces and nephews, Bridger Post, Rome Reuter, Olivia Reuter, Amanda Pittman, Andrew Pittman, Asa Richerson and Eli Richerson and a huge host of friends. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Valley Grande Baptist Church with Rev. Clarke Skelton and Rev. Donald Harris officiating. Interment will be in Ocmulgee Baptist Church Cemetery with Selma Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Valley Grande Baptist Church from 6-8:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Chris Smith, Danny Harris, Mark Harris, Houston Tucker, Bruce Ingram, Rusty Mills, Will Langston, Jim Boozer, Chris Ogle, Reggie Ogle, Ricky Gorenflo, Steve Fluty, Craig Whitfield, Jesse Gavin, Clayton French, Robby Persinger and Allen Blackmon. His fishing buddies will serve as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to The Valley Grande Baptist Church Building Fund, 48 County Road 16, Valley Grande, AL, 36701.
