Mildred Greene Jackson passed on into Heaven on Friday May 22, 2009 at her home in Valley Grande. She is survived by her husband, John W. Jackson, her son, David Jackson of Valley Grande, her daughter, Diane Jackson Talor of Birmingham, AL, grandsons, Tomi John Taylor (Michelle) of Madison, AL, John Randall Jackson of Gadsden, AL, granddaughter, Brooks Robinson of Meridian, MS, two great-grandchildren, Meredith Talor of Madison, AL, Colton Robinson of Meridian, MS, sister, Daphene Kent of Gulfport, MS, nieces, Peggy Grantham Elmore (Billy Ray), Fay Grantham Knotts, Glenda Kent Forrest (Gary), Carol Jean Graves Parris (Larry), Shirley Graves Frith (Jimmy), nephews, Ronnie Grantham (Cindy), Randy Grantham, and several other relatives. Mrs. Jackson is preceded in death by her father, Jacob Greene, her mother, Malissa Greens, sisters, Mavis Grantham Jordan, Myrtis Graves, brothers, Joe, Clyde, and Kather Greene, her son-in-law, Tomi L. Talor, and one nephew, Mike Jordan.
Funeral services will be held on Monday May 25, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home with Dr. Kenny Hatcher officiating and burial following at New Live Oak Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tomi John Talor, Billy Ray Elmore, Col. (R) Gary Forrest, Bob Phillips, Sonny Gibbs, and Ray Hollingshead.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Northside Baptist Church Family, Pastor, Dr. Kenny Hatcher, and the B.P.O.E. Lodge # 167.
Visitation will be held on Sunday May 24, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
