In 2000, she graduated from Marquette High School in St. Louis, Missouri, laying the foundation for her pursuit of knowledge and personal growth. At the time of her passing, Monique was attending Colorado Christian University with the goal of obtaining a degree in counseling. This aspiration reflected her innate desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

The hallmark of Monique's character was her genuine care for those around her. She possessed an extraordinary capacity for empathy and compassion that touched countless lives. This innate gift flourished during the tumultuous period following the January 2023 tornado in Selma. Monique selflessly devoted herself to aiding in the recovery efforts, embodying the very essence of resilience and community spirit.

In addition to her altruistic endeavors, Monique was an active and cherished member of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church. Her involvement allowed her to further nurture her passion for nurturing others within a spiritual context. Through her unwavering faith and commitment to service, she exemplified the values that defined her as an individual.

Monique's proudest accomplishment can be found within the walls of the loving home she created for her cherished loved ones. As a devoted wife to Sean Munroe Pettit and a loving mother to their daughter Isabella Elaine "Bella" Pettit, Monique radiated love and warmth in every aspect of family life. Her legacy lives on through the bonds she forged and the values she instilled in her family.

Monique will be deeply missed by her surviving family, who find solace in the memories they shared. She leaves behind her beloved daughter, Isabella, who will forever carry her mother's spirit. Monique is also survived by her father, Thomas Meadows, and his wife Patricia Careklas-Meadows. Her brothers Adam Warren, Todd Robert (Courtney), Mark Wayne, and Chad Timothy (Stacy) Meadows will forever cherish the bond they shared with their sister. Monique's nurturing spirit lives on through eight nieces and nephews whom she adored dearly. Donna Pettit, Monique's mother-in-law, as well as special friend, Trey Day and his family also mourn the loss of this extraordinary woman.

Monique Elaine Pettit has left an indelible impact on this world through her vibrant personality and unwavering commitment to caring for others. Her legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire us all. As we bid farewell to this remarkable soul, let us remember her with joy in our hearts—celebrating a life that truly touched so many.

A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church with Rev. Steve Burton officiating. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 1:00 p.m., prior to the service.
