Earl George Clearman, age 81 of Selma passed away on Sunday November 1, 2009 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held on Friday November 6, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Cecil Williamson officiating and burial following at New Live Oak Cemetery. He was a member of Crescent Hill Presbyterian Church, where he served as a deacon for many years.
Mr. Clearman is preceded in death by his parents, J.D. and Ruth Clearman, and two brothers, Leslie Clearman and Marvin Hughes.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Helms Clearman, his sons, Michael G. Clearman (Ronda) of Clermont, FL, Timothy E. Clearman (Vicki) of Dothan, AL, his three grandchildren, Kimberly Saenz (Billy) of Lumberton, TX, Amy Weisiger (David) of Dothan, AL, Lori McCarty (Omar) of Knoxville, TN, 5 great-grandchildren, his sisters, Earlen C Bearden of Selma, Ruby C. Day of Valley Grande, Geneva Harris of Pensacola, FL, and a brother-in-law, Ollie Helms (Lula).
Pallbearers will be James Bearden, Paul Bearden, John Coon, Jr., Ollie Helms, Gil Thistrup, and Mark Ivey.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Crescent Hill Presbyterian Church.
The family will receive friends on Thursday November 5, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
