Nadine Legrone Hopkins

Nadine Legrone Hopkins, 88, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on December 31, 2012 in Brookhaven, Mississippi. She was one of the 10 children of Vera and Posey Legrone from Selma, Alabama. Nadine is survived by her siblings Virginia Rush, Henry P. Legrone, Catherine McGee, Myrna Lastinger, and Reta Smitherman. Nadine was the devoted wife to the late Allen Clifford Hopkins, whom she deeply loved until her last breathe. She was the mother of three children: Larry Hopkins, Steve Hopkins, and Lynn Hopkins Albro as well as mother-in-law to Jennifer Hopkins and Ronnie Albro. Also she was Meme to her grandchildren, Sunny Hopkins, Alanna Hopkins Windam, Lindsey Albro, Seth Hopkins, Colby Albro, Jennifer Taulli, and Stacey Spiehler. Nadine's great grandchildren are Sophia Nelms, Ace Spiehler, Laura Windam, and Cole Windam. She was a long time resident of Metairie, Louisiana and a member of the Bridgedale Baptist Church. She also was a resident of Brookhaven, Mississippi following Hurricane Katrina. Nadine Legrone Hopkins will be laid to rest on January 5, 2013 in Selma, Alabama, where she will finally be reunited with her husband and love of her life. Visitation will take place January 5, 2013 from 12 -2 PM followed by a service for 2 PM at the Lawrence Brown Service Funeral Home located at 2900 Citizens Parkway, Selma, AL 36701. The burial will follow the service at Pineview Memory Gardens.
