Nancy James Hereford, age 73, of Selma, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2016.
She is preceded by her parents: Ernest Durell James and Edith Blythe James.
Mrs. Hereford is survived by her husband of 52 years: Francis Scott Hereford; sons: Robert Scott Hereford, (Amanda) of Santa Barbara, CA, William James Hereford (Langston) of Birmingham; grandsons: Robert Scott Hereford, Jr. of Houston, TX, John Frederick Hereford of Santa Barbara, CA, Joseph Blythe Hereford of Santa Barbara, CA, William James Hereford JR of Birmingham, Al, Carey Stabler Hereford of Birmingham; sister: Jamie James Curtis (Jim) of St. Simons Island, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Nancy Hereford attended Sidney Lanier High School in Montgomery, AL, University of Alabama, Auburn University, graduated from Huntington College, and Judson College. She taught English at Selma High School from 1988 - 2008, She was a resident of Selma since 1970, and was a member of what is now Cornerstone Presbyterian Church since 1970.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday August 13, 2016 at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church with Rev. Steve Burton officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow at New Live Oak Cemetery. Visitation will start at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the church in the Warren Room.
Pallbearers are: Tom Glover, Deshan Walker, Ramsey Knight, Norm Trotter, Bish Rockwell, Glenn Sexton, Doug Fortner; and honorary pallbearer will be: Coach Willie Maxey.
