Naomi Nettie Sims Davis passed away on Monday evening, October 21, 2019 at the age of 89. She was born on October 5, 1930 in Autauga County, Alabama to parents Willis Franklin and Willie Jones Sims. She married Clarence A. Davis, Jr. in 1951 and had four children from this union.
She was preceded in death by both her parents; husband; daughter, Dorothy “Dot” Miller; brothers William Clayton Sims, Wilford Sims, W. F. Sims, and Eugene Sims; and two sisters, Mary Austin and Elsie Chandler.
She is survived by son, Jerry Davis (Freida) of Spartansburg, SC, two daughters, Judith Toche (Charles) of Vancleave, MS and Linda Umstattd (Richard) of Willow Springs, MO. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Brice Miller (MS), Jason, Steven and Felicia Davis (SC), Jessica and Jeremy McCauley (MS) Jennifer Cain (WV) and Jeanna Latimer (Albert) (MS); two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be on Friday, October 25, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home with Rev. Rod Rochester. Private burial will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery.
She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and conducted her life accordingly. Her greatest joys during her life were her husband and children. She also loved bowling, ceramics, painting and shopping.
The family would like to thank Kare-In-Home Hospice and many of the nurses and staff at Lakeview Nursing Facility that provided her care and support during her illness.
