Neal Lynnwood Barber passed away on June 18, 2018 at the age of 78.
Neal was born in Selma and lived there until 1996, when he moved to Maplesville, AL. In Selma, he worked at Day Motor Supply as a machinist and had a job at his home in Selmont where he worked on and sold cars. He loved his family and his pride and joy was his grandchildren. He really enjoyed Jason coming to visit in Maplesville. He was a huge advocate for Patrick and proud of his every accomplishment. Katy was his only granddaughter and had him wrapped around her finger. He will be greatly missed by all!
He is preceded by his parents: Ninevah Barber and Thereas Wilkerson; brothers: Roy Eugene Barber (Gene), Harold Lee Barber (Tag), nephew: Virgil Lamar “Pete” Barber.
Mr. Barber is survived by his wife: Joan Barber; daughters: Lesia Howell (Phillip), Sabrina Cooper (Leroy); grandsons: Jason Phillip Howell, Patrick Alexander Cooper; granddaughter: Katy Elizabeth Cooper; dog: Scooter; and niece: Kathy Barber Roberts.
A memorial service will be Friday evening, June 22, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Seals officiating.
