Neil Allen Epler, 75, of Lake Pointe Village Mulberry, passed away Oct. 6, 2011 at Good Shepherd Hospice due to MDS. Mr. Epler was born in Spring Township, Berks County, PA on Nov. 24, 1935. He was a resident of the Reading area until 1975 when he moved with his family to Selma, AL. He then retired to Mulberry, FL in 1996. He was a veteran of the US Army from 1954-1957. He worked as a Traffic Manager for General Battery Corp., as a Parts Manager for Beech Aircraft, and as a courier for Fed Ex. He was a member of Mulberry United Methodist Church.
Mr. Epler was preceded in death by his parents, S. Violet Bohn Epler and Charles H. Epler. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Doris Bensinger Epler; daughter, Denise (Mallory) Wheat; son, Rev. Dr. Neil C. Epler (Ashley Nicholson); granddaughters, Audrey and Amy Williamson; grandsons, Charles and Joel Epler; and great grandson, Charles Hayden Epler.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday October 15, 2011 at New Live Oak Cemetery with Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to The Bell Fund at Frazier Memorial United Methodist Church in Montgomery.
