Nell Clements Frasier, 89, passed away Monday, Aug. 16, 2021.
She was born March 30, 1932, daughter of Blanche Willingham Clements and Frank Moody Clements Sr.
She grew up in Tuscaloosa County and graduated from Tuscaloosa County High School. She later attended Livingston University, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education. She served as Homecoming Queen and met her future husband, Stanhope Frasier, while at Livingston. Upon graduating, she taught her first year in Bay Minette, Alabama.
After marrying Stanhope, she moved to Orrville, AL where she taught at the Orrville Public School until it closed in 1970. Following this, she taught in the Dallas County School System before moving into the Selma City School system and teaching at Clark, Byrd and Cedar Park elementary schools before her retirement.
Mrs. Frasier was a longtime member of the Orrville Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. She served multiple terms on the Orrville Town Council.
Graveside Services will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 19, from Orrville Cemetery with the Rev. Michael Liles officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing.
She is survived by two sons, Tim (Janet) Frasier and Mark (Pam) Frasier; four grandchildren, Andrew Clayton Moore, Mary Katherine (Justin) Johnson, Sarah Elizabeth (John) Cox and Stanhope Hartley Frasier; and two great-grandchildren, Matthew Finlee Johnson and Luke Frasier Johnson.
Memorial donations may be made to the Orrville Baptist Church Legacy Fund.
