Nell Seymore

Nell G. Seymore, 77, of Gurley, passed away Sunday. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. Nell was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed outdoor activities and good humor with family and friends. Prior to retirement she was employed as bookkepper/office manager for several businesses in and around the Selma area. She was preceded in death, 11 days prior, by her husband, John A. Seymore, she was also preceded by parents, John Vernon and Maggie Vesta Godwin. Surviving are daughter, Gloria (James) Harrington of Gurley, son, Roger A. (Phyllis) Seymore of Gurley, grandchildren, Christopher A. Seymore, Donna P. (Michael) Mock, Johnathan D. (Amy) Player, Kathryn P. (Parks) Gettys, Elliot G. Harrington, great grandchildren, Eli Mock, Maggie Player and Lucy Player, and one sister, Bettie G. Miller of Valley Grande. Visitation will be Tuesday 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will follow at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, Tuesday at 6:00 pm with Bro. Steve Parker officiating. An additional visitation will be Wednesday at Selma Funeral Home from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM with a service to follow at 11:00 AM with Bro Ed Smith officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Pine View Cemetery in Valley Grande. In lieu of flowers the family would like memorial donations be made to the Hampton Cove Church of Christ, PO Box 242, Owens Cross Roads, AL 35760.
