Orbie Smith ���Woody��� Wood
Orbie Smith Wood, age 88, died at home Tuesday October 13, 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents, Orbie Edward Wood and Leala Ruth Smith Wood, his sisters, Adrienne Mullen and Laura Ruth McGrath. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marceil Sherrill Wood, daughters Judith ���Judy��� Ann Dabbs of Jupiter, FL and Virginia Ruth ���Ginger��� Reeder (Husband Rob) of Newnan, GA, grandchildren Richard Henry Howell, Jr. (Emily) of Austin, Texas , Robert Walker Reeder, Leala Marceil Reeder and Chelsea Price Margolies, great-grandchildren, Adaline Clark Howell and Ace Henry Howell. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy. After his discharge from the Navy he was employed by U.S. Civil Service at Craig AF Base until the base closed. After retirement from Craig he worked at Henry Brick Co. as loading Supervisor and was a member of The Elks Lodge for forty years. He loved gardening and was an avid fisherman. He fished with his children and grandchildren but was always trying to out fish his Pal, Willis Bowles. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 16, 2009 at New Live Oak Cemetery with Rev. Bob Frazer officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service directing. The family will receive friends at the graveside 30 minutes prior.
