Paul Mayo

Paul Davidson Mayo, age 84, a resident of Selma, AL, passed away February 2, 2008. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Kathryn Mayo. Surviving are his daughters, Kathryn (Ralph) Hardy and Mary Nell Mayo; brothers, Jack (Mary Lou) Mayo and Joe (Frances) Mayo; sister, Nettie (Rucker) Staggers; grandchildren, David (Ami) Hardy, Stewart (Sara) Hardy, and Angela (Troy) Armstrong; and seven great grandchildren. Graveside services will be Monday, February 4, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. at New Live Oak Cemetery with Rev. George Jones officiating. Selma Funeral Home will be directing. Pallbearers will be Russell Buster, John Mayo, Turner Mayo, Jack Staggers, Johnny Henry, Billy Hardy, Kincey Green, Cecil Yarbrough and Tony Traylor. Honorary pallbearers will be the Maverick Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church. Mr. Mayo was very active in Pleasant Hill and First Baptist Church. He was also a very active member of the Maverick Sunday School Class. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to West Central Alabama Rehabilitation Center - Special Pre-School Education.
