Pauline Mills

Mrs. Walter Lain Mills, Sr. (Pauline), 92, of Selma, a native of Elmira, N.Y. died Monday, August 1, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Lain Mills, Sr. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Lain Mills Peel of Selma; a son Dr. Walter L. Mills Jr. and wife Mary Albrecht Mills of West Lafayette, IN. Grandchildren Lain Peel (Robert) Littleton of Birmingham, AL; Katy Peel (Todd) Mote of Montgomery, AL; Everette (Megan) Mills of Lafayette,IN; Brad Mills and Meghan Houlihan of Arlington, VA.; Grant Mills of West Lafayette, IN and two great grandchildren; and two sisters Mrs. J.C. McQuide of Mequon, Wisconsin and Mrs. Robert DeKalb, Watertown, N.Y. Pauline was born July 28, 1919 in Elmira, N.Y. and lived in Selma since 1951 where she taught Economics at Parrish High School and Selma High School until her retirement. She graduated from Elmira College, Phi Beta Kappa. Prior to her teaching career, she was an active leader in the Selma Girl Scouts. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Delta Kappa Gamma and was an enthusiastic sailor and active member of the Dixie Sailing Club Services will be at the First Presbyterian Church at 10:30 am Saturday, August 6, 2011. Visitation will be on Friday, August 5, 2011, 4:00 é��é��é�" 6:00 pm at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Everette Mills, Brad Mills, Grant Mills, Mark Radford, Robert Littleton, and Todd Mote. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to First Presbyterian Church, 301 Broad Street, Selma, AL 36701 or Delta Kappa Gamma Outstanding Girl of the Year Scholarship program ,2110 Delanie Drive, Selma, AL 36701.
