Porter Ward Belcher, age 56, of Selma, died Monday April 27, 2009. Survivors include his wife, Sue Belcher; daughter, Amanda (Chad) Holbrook; sons, David A. Belcher (Billie Jo), P.C. Belcher (Tori); grandchildren, Kristen Edwards, Ragen Belcher; great-grandchild, Kennedy Edwards; sisters, Velma Radford (Thomas), Anita Belcher, Barbara Pierce (Tommy), Linda Linley (Jerry) and numerous nieces and nephews. A church service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday April 29, 2009 at Meadowview Christian Church, 1512 Old Orville Road Selma, AL with Dr. George Wood officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow at New Live Oak Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday April 28, 2009 at the church. Pallbearers will be Wayne Hobby, Ben Cosby, Jimmy Golden, Paul Britton, Will Cosby and Tom Pierce. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73123-1718 or UAB Center for Palliative Care, CH19 219U, 1530 3rd Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35294-2041.
