Randolph Long Jr
July 20, 1943 — June 3, 2015
Randolph Nelson Long, Jr., 71, of Selma passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents Randolph Nelson Long and Irma Folwkes Long.
Randy is survived by his devoted wife, Jo Ann Boswell Long, sister, Carroll Carter Long, brother, and sister-in-law, Don and Judy Blanton of Selma; two nephews, Billy Blanton (Arria) of Mobile, AL, and Clay Blanton (Julia) of Atlanta, GA; niece, Maggie Blanton of Los Angeles, CA; several great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be 1:00 PM Sunday, June 7, 2015 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
Mr. Long was the farm manager on the family tree farm in Gees Bend. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Randy was a faithful volunteer at The Miller Childers Center, formally the Selma Christian Alliance. He also delivered meals on wheels.
He had a passion for reading and a love for animals as well as a gift for listening to others.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to The Selma Animal Shelter or your favorite charity.
