Rebecca Anne Tackett, affectionately known as Becky, passed away on August 22, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love and care for children. Born on September 25, 1952, she dedicated her life to caring for, raising, and teaching children at daycares, and then in her home. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her professional life as she also played a pivotal role in helping raise her nieces and nephews. It was evident that Becky had a remarkable way with kids - they were naturally drawn to her, and she formed a special bond with each child she cared for.
After Becky graduated from A.G. Parish High School. She started working for Leika's until an opportunity arose to care for children at her own home. She embraced this calling wholeheartedly and became an integral part of the lives of many families in the community.
Becky was a life-long night owl. For her last nine years at Park Place, she kept the night shift nurses on their toes. Despite struggling with dyslexia, Becky possessed an incredible memory - she never forgot a name, a face, or a birthday. Her ability to remember and acknowledge these details endeared her even more to those whose lives she touched.
