Rev. John Shipman

Rev. John Jacob Shipman, age 78, of Selma, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014.
Mr. Shipman is survived by his wife, Beatrice Waulene Shipman; son, Gary K. Shipman Sr., daughters, Audrey Dyke (Dan), Jackie Michaels (Larry) and Teri Sexton (Russ); brother, Bill Shipman (Zola); 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Praise Park Ministries Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Larry Stover officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be prior to the funeral service from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL. on Monday, March 31, 2014 at 11:00 a.m.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Sexton, Joseph Williams, Chase Shipman, Slade Singleton, Kevin Harrison, Morgan Williams, John Jacob Shipman, III and Nicholas Shipman.
The family is requesting in lieu of flowers you consider making memorial donations to Mrs. Waulene Shipman, 403 County Road 210, Selma, Alabama 36701.
