Robert "Bob" Irvin Edwards

Robert "Bob" Irvin Edwards of Selma, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2023 at home with is family by his side at the age of 90.

He was born in Selma, Alabama on July 7, 1933 to the late James Stennis Edwards and the late Edna Willetta Sample Edwards.

"Bob" spent his working years with Sherwin Williams and retired in 1993 after 42 years of service. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Bob was a member of the American Legion, the Past President of the Selma Exchange Club, a member of the National Rifle Association, the North American Hunting Club, a member of Gideons International, and faithful and longtime member of Ocmulgee Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Ann Twilley Edwards; children, Gary Forrest (Karla) Edwards, Anita Edwards, and Stephen Kirk (Penny) Edwards; grandchildren, Ashton Grey Edwards, WIl Nissen Edwards, Leslie (Ben) Horsley, and Kaylie Love; great-granddaughter, Stevie Anne Horsley; siblings, Doris E. Oaks and Clyde Edwards, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Nathan Edwards, Willetta Melton, Tom Melvin Edwards, Marion "Pete" Edwards, Eileen Massey, and Norman Edwards.

A Celebration of Bob's Life will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. from the Ocmulgee Baptist Church in Perry County with Rev. Bill Goodwin officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m..

In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Ocmulgee Baptist Church or Gideons International.

Final care has been entrusted ot the Selma Funeral Home of Valley Grande, Alabama.
